Job Description
As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a key role in helping clients achieve independence and improve their quality of life. Your responsibilities will include:
-
Conducting comprehensive assessments of clients’ physical, psychological, emotional, and developmental abilities using a mix of clinical observation and standardised assessment tools.
 -
Evaluating clients’ functional capacity in real-world settings such as their home, workplace, school, or community, and recommending practical adaptations to enhance daily performance.
 -
Designing and implementing tailored intervention plans, including vocational, recreational, remedial, and social activities, delivered one-on-one or in group settings.
 -
Collaborating with families, carers, employers, and educators to create supportive environments that promote client participation and independence.
 -
Recommending and training clients in the use of adaptive equipment, such as mobility aids, splints, or assistive technology, to overcome functional limitations.
 -
Providing education and coaching to clients and their support networks on strategies to improve engagement in meaningful activities and prevent further functional decline.
 -
Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams — including physiotherapists, psychologists, speech pathologists, and medical specialists — to ensure holistic case management.
 -
Offering specialist input for complex cases, including driver rehabilitation, third-party insurance claims, and medico-legal assessments when required.
 -
Monitoring and documenting progress, preparing professional reports, and ensuring compliance with legislative, funding, and ethical standards.
 -
Continuously updating professional knowledge by engaging in ongoing learning and contributing to service improvement initiatives.
